Blackwell (“we”) builds an AI-native commerce platform: storefronts, a merchant console, and advertising analytics. This page explains what we collect across our early-access pages and the platform itself, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short and honest.
When you join the waitlist, we collect the information you choose to give us: your email address, and — depending on which path you pick — what you want to sell, whether you’ve run a store before, your store URL, your rough monthly order volume, and any notes you add. If you vote on which feature matters most, we record that choice.
We also collect basic analytics automatically: pages viewed, buttons clicked, how far you scroll, the marketing tags (UTM parameters) in the link that brought you, and standard technical data such as your approximate location, device, and browser.
To contact you about early access, to understand who wants this and which features matter, and to improve the product. That’s it. We do not use it to advertise unrelated things to you.
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run this: our database and hosting (Supabase), our product analytics (PostHog), and our email provider — each only to the extent needed to operate the waitlist.
Our analytics (PostHog) uses cookies and similar browser storage to measure how the page is used. This is limited to understanding the funnel; it is not used to build advertising profiles.
We keep your information for as long as we’re running this early-access program, or until you ask us to delete it — whichever comes first.
You can ask us to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you at any time. Just email hello@tryblackwell.com and we’ll take care of it.
These pages are meant for people 18 and older.
Merchants using the Blackwell console can connect advertising accounts (such as Meta, Google Ads, or TikTok) so we can show their spend and performance in one dashboard. These connections are read-only: we request reporting permissions, we retrieve aggregate performance data (spend, impressions, clicks, and the conversion figures the ad platform reports), and nothing in our product creates, edits, or manages ads.
Access tokens for connected accounts are encrypted before they are stored and are used only to retrieve the reporting data described above, only for the merchant who connected the account. We do not sell this data, we do not share it with other merchants or with third parties beyond the hosting infrastructure that runs the product, and we do not use it for advertising of our own. A merchant can disconnect at any time from their console or by revoking Blackwell’s access in the ad platform’s own security settings; see our data deletion page for how to have everything removed.
Stores that sell through Blackwell get first-party analytics about their own shoppers: which link brought a visit, what was viewed and added to the cart, and which purchases followed. This runs on the store’s own domain with a first-party cookie. We do not track shoppers across other websites, we do not build cross-site advertising profiles, and we do not sell shopper data. Purchase details are used to run the store (orders, receipts, refunds) and to show that store’s owner where their sales come from. Shoppers can ask the store or us to delete their information at any time.
If we change this notice, we’ll update the date above. Questions? Reach us at hello@tryblackwell.com.
